The LGA50D is a surface-mount, non-isolated DC-DC converter with two independently controllable channels rated at up to twenty-five amps for each channel. It offers the user an extremely high power conversion density when application space is at a premium. The LGA50D can be controlled and monitored by digital communication via the standard PMBus commands but, if this is not required, it can be configured with external resistors. The two outputs can also be connected to give a single output rated up to fifty amps. This presentation provides an overview to the LGA50D unit including a review of the features and benefits. It will also highlight the widely configurable nature of the device as well as discussing possible target markets and applications.
