While EMI can be managed to meet desired specifications (eg CISPR-25) with external filters, the increasing size, complexity, and cost of such filters pose challenges to the system designer. However, if the power regulator itself offers enhanced EMI mitigation techniques, then the reliance on external, passive filters is significantly reduced.
