This is an introduction to a new high voltage DC relay "G9KB" for high-capacity household electricity, which was born by OMRON's unique CAE analysis technology developed through industry-academia collaboration.
By adopting the new 3D arc simulation technology, it was possible to design structures with attention to detail. G9KB can handle "high capacity supporting 600 VDC / 50A" and "switching control and safe cut-off of the direct current which runs during charging and discharging of electricity storage system" with ONLY ONE relay.
In this movie, we will introduce in detail the feature of G9KB and the CAE technology that made G9KB development possible, including interviews with a CAE technology developer.

Recently, there has been a growing need for electricity storage systems for the realization of carbon neutrality and for the enforcement of resilience in natural disasters. Therefore, the capacity of household storage batteries, which aimed for the domestic consumption of the electric power generated by the solar power generation system, has been increasing. With the culmination of Omron's technologies, the compact high voltage DC relay which securely and safely cuts off DC is realized and it also ends up contributing to the downsizing and weight reduction of the customer’s products.
