ADC series power stamp evaluation boards

Artesyn Embedded Technologies
Introducing Artesyn’s ADC family of forty-eight volt input direct conversion products, which follow the Power Stamp Alliance specifications. This short presentation will show two of the product evaluation platforms that Artesyn will support to enable the test and qualification of the ADC family. The family of power stamps consists of both the main stamp and satellite stamp. Once the satellite stamp is combined with the controller-board, it becomes the main stamp. The intended application for these products is any high current rail that is to be generated from a forty-eight volt input. High current can be considered anywhere between 70 amps and 600 amps. However, they are specifically designed to generate the voltage rail required by CPU cores. The two evaluation boards shown here are primarily for DC load and performance testing. The top one is just populated with a single stamp. This unit can be considered to be a stand-alone power stage. In this case forty-eight volts in, one-point-eight volts out with a TDC current rating of 100 amps. This test-board offers full functionality, but it is primarily intended to evaluate the performance of a single power-stage. DC connections are made by simple screw connections, and noise/ripple measurements are easily made by the connector provided. However, if you need to evaluate higher current and higher performance, then Artesyn also supports an evaluation board with one main stamp and up to five satellite stamps populated. This gives a TDC current rating for this board of up to 600 amps. More information can be found both at artesyn.com in the Power Stamp Alliance solution section, or at PowerStamp.org.
