►The Roads and Traffic Agency needed to make some adaptations to be in line with the current European tunnel guidelines. In the event of a serious incident, they must ensure that traffic is immediately diverted via an emergency route. This allows emergency services to reach the tunnel much faster. And that’s why Phoenix Contact was contacted by the Traffic Agency. ►We received the specific question to create a uniform software structure that could close all the affected tunnels and is easy to be parametrized using a database and a clear interface. ►Thanks to the modern programming and debug tools in PLCnext Engineer, the development time in project “Tunnel closure-traffic techniques” was shortened.
