It is a list of typical packages for discrete product. Please refer when selecting components.

SC System

SC51

It is widely used as package for the transistor. The shape is similar to TO92.

SC59

It is a package equivalent to SOT23, TO236 MOD of JEDEC code. Each supplier has its own name for this package. For example, it is called as Mini Mold (Ex-NEC Electronics), S-MIN (I Toshiba), and TSM (Toshiba) depending on supplier.

SC62

It is a package equivalent to SOT89, TO243 of JEDEC code. Each supplier has its own name for this package. It is called as Power Mini Mold(Ex-NEC electronics), PW-Min(i Toshiba, UPAK(Ex-Renesas Technology Corp).

SC63/SC64/SC65/SC67

It is widely used as a package for the voltage regulator. SC63 is sometimes represented as PW-Mold (Toshiba), DPAK(S)/MP-3 (Renesas Technology) depending on the supplier.

SC70

In the present condition, each supplier has its own name for this package. It is called as SSP(Ex-NEC electronics), UMT3/CMPAK(NXP), USM(Toshiba)depending on the supplier.

SOT System(Small Outline Transistor)

SOT23

Sometimes it is represented as MPAK (Renesas Technology), SMV (Toshiba), and MTP5 (New Japan Radio Co., Ltd.) depending on the supplier. In the JEITA standard, it is represented as SC74A. At present, there are 5 pins, 6 pins, and 8 pins, and it is being multipurpose used as a compact package of various IC although it was developed originally as 3 pin package. Lead pitch is 0.95mm.

SOT223

There are types of 3 pins and 5 pins, and this type of package is having tab for radiation. Sometimes it is represented as Power Mini Mold (NEC Electronics), PW-Min (i Toshiba), and UPAK (Renesas Technology). Lead pitch is 1.5mm.

SOT89

The characteristic of this package is 1 pin has the wider breadth than the other 3 pins. Lead pitch is 1.9mm.

SOT System(Small Outline Transistor)

SOT143

This package type has the tab for radiation of SOT23. It is used as compact package for the radiation of the voltage regulator in IC, and has 4 pins,5 pins, and 6 pins. Lead pitch is 2.3mm.

TO System(Transister Outline)

TO3P

At present it is used widely as package for the voltage regulator although it is originally a package for the transistor.

TO92

This package is equivalent to TO226AA of the JEDEC code.

TO220/TO220AB/Isolated TO220

Radiator is installed on the opposite side of the lead in this package. It is used as compact package for the radiation of the voltage regulator in IC, and has 3 pins, 5 pins, 7 pins.

TO247

Radiator is installed on the opposite side of the lead, and is comparatively thin type package.

TO252

Many makers called it DPAK, PPAK, SC63, SC64.

Many makers call it D2PAK. The size similar to TO220 shape is comparatively small.

Metal CAN

TO3/TO66

TO3 is an older package. External shape is full-web, the structure can be fixed to he radiator with the screw, by becoming a hat type, and using two side holes.

TO5/TO12/TO8/TO33/TO39

It is a cylindrical metallic package. The external shape of TO5 and TO39, TO12, and TO33 are similar. In TO8, is a little bit larger.

TO18/TO72

It is a cylindrical metallic package. The external shape is similar to TO5 but differs in size and the shape of head portion.

TO46/TO99/TO100

It is a cylindrical metallic package. The name differs because of the difference of bit numbers.
