ABLIC provides Vital Product Data (VPD) EEPROMs for SSDs (Solid State Drives). ABLIC also provides a lineup of temperature sensors ideal for data centers, servers and high-end PCs, and a lineup of VPDs with SMBus ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) function, which support the development of a wide variety of SSDs.
What is a VPD EEPROM?
VPD is a device designed to store information about PCIe SSD as shown in “Table 1”.


ABLIC’s VPD EEPROMs
ABLIC’s VPD EEPROMs support the development of PCIe SSDs for data centers, servers and high-end PCs.
By using ABLIC VPD EEPROMs, the following is possible:
- Enhance thermal throttling performance (S-585AA)
・Using a built-in ±0.25℃ typ. high-accuracy digital temperature sensor. - Able to add SSDs while power is on (S-585AA)
・Using a built-in SMBus ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) function support for Hot-plug* via SMBus. - Can be connected to a low voltage 1.8V AUX power supply (S-585AA, S-34TS04L)
・With a 1.7V min low-voltage operation.
●What is SMBus ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) function?
The SMBus ARP is a function that allows a HOST to assign arbitrary addresses to target devices using the SMBus; this allows for easy SSD adding.
- Able to add SSDs while power is on with Hot-plug
- Able to add more than 32 SSDs per Host
- Able to remove external multiplexer
