1600G Fixed Form Factor Switches

Description

Fixed form factor switches, also known as “pizza boxes” or “stackables,” offer several attractive advantages over chassis-based switches that are not part of the evolutionary stream. The stackable design provides economies of investment that are commensurate with growth, not only in terms of acquisition costs, but also in terms of ongoing support and power consumption, significantly reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO). Renesas’ optimized design consists of a system synchronizer, high-performance jitter attenuator, high-performance fan-out buffer, and ultra-low-noise LDOs. It is intended to provide high timing accuracy, integration, and flexibility, enabling network and system developers to meet 112G PAM4 requirements at 400GHz and beyond.

Advantages of the system

  • Highly integrated timing source eliminates the need for additional clock devices.
  • 100fs RMS output supports 112Gbps SerDes interconnect clock.
  • Supports Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE), JESD204B/C, IEEE 1588 G.8262.1 and G.8262 telecom boundary clock requirements, and G.8273.2 Class C/D time precision.
