Microsemi Presents: PoE for Digital Ceiling

Building an Ethernet infrastructure for IP-based LED luminaires to create energy efficient lighting systems has never been easier. Microsemi recently launched a fanless PoE switch specifically designed for digital ceiling applications. The Microsemi PDS-208G provides 30 W for 8 ports simultaneously and allows any 1 port to operate at up to 72 W. A unique offering, it is differentiated from enterprise switches by enabling lighting fixtures and other Ethernet terminals to receive power and data over standard Ethernet the most energy-efficiency way. The simple yet sophisticated digital ceiling switch provides quiet and energy-efficient operation that is ideal for enterprise IoT. Beyond lighting, the Microsemi digital ceiling switch supports multiple building systems—sensors, Wi-Fi access points, IP surveillance cameras, and HVAC system controls can all be deployed, monitored, and controlled for optimum results and maximum cost savings.
